Flight services from Patna and Gaya to Kathmandu will soon begin. Earlier, there were preparations to start flights only from Patna, but now services will also operate from Gaya airport. For this, small aircraft with 72 seats will be used.
The state government, in collaboration with five airlines, has prepared this plan. A meeting between the airlines and state government officials was held at Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi, where the proposal received positive response.
Flights from Gaya to Multiple Destinations
Flights from Gaya to Sharjah, Bangkok, Singapore, and Colombo will also be launched in the coming days, along with Kathmandu flights.
Complete Utilization of Gaya Airport
To ensure the full use of Gaya airport, the state government is introducing this service. Airlines will operate 72-seater aircraft for the Kathmandu route, which will also be linked with domestic destinations.
International Services May Begin by November
According to officials, after finalizing agreements with the airlines, international services could begin by November 2025. A committee meeting has been held to prepare the final roadmap.
The Additional Chief Secretary of the Home Department, Mr. Arvind Kumar Chaudhary, informed that airlines welcomed the state government’s initiative. Once necessary formalities are completed, flight bookings may start from October itself, with actual services expected by November.
Convenience for Passengers
The new flights from Patna and Gaya to Kathmandu will make travel more convenient for passengers, especially tourists and businessmen. With easier access, Gaya will also become a stronger hub for international tourism.
✈️ In short: By November 2025, passengers from Patna and Gaya will be able to fly directly to Kathmandu, with more international destinations from Gaya planned soon.
