
The world’s largest eye hospital will be constructed in Masti Chak, Saran. The foundation stone of Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital was laid, which will be the biggest eye hospital in the world.
This ambitious hospital project of Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital will be ready by March 2027. It will perform 3 lakh surgeries every year free of cost. The hospital will have 19 operation theatres and 50 eye-testing rooms. The aim is to increase surgeries from the current one lakh annually to three lakh by 2030.
According to a survey, Bihar has the highest number of visually impaired people, with cataract being the main cause. For this reason, Saran’s Akhand Jyoti Hospital was chosen as the center for this initiative. Patients from across the state as well as neighboring regions will benefit from this.
Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, this hospital will provide maximum eye treatments free of cost to the poor and underprivileged.
Hospital Facilities:
A total of 1,700 beds will be available.
The hospital will have state-of-the-art infrastructure with advanced training facilities for new doctors.
Annually, 1,200 ophthalmologists will be trained here.
Once operational, Akhand Jyoti Eye Hospital will become the backbone of eye treatment not just in Bihar but across India. It will also serve as a global example in eradicating blindness through free surgeries and awareness campaigns.
